Members 496dart
Im looking for a supplier of something odd. The small O-rings that are on mic cable ends(female end) . Anyone know where i can get these ?
Members milesdf
hm are they really ever necessary? i think the connectors that have them use a special one with ridges and stuff. unless your doing stuff in dirt i wouldnt worry about it. the cord end of most connectors isnt waterproof anyway. Members 496dart
Ive got several cables that are missing them. I hate the loose fit when plugged in. I had one cutting out on a vocal last week, i thought it might be the loose fit without the O ring.
Members W. M. Hellinger
I had one cutting out on a vocal last week, i thought it might be the loose fit without the O ring. Yes, that is the effect of missing "O" ring. The "O" ring makes up for inconsistancies in the ID of male XLR connections, and without the "O" ring, some connections can be pretty sloppy. I'd think most anyone who sells Neutrik products should be able to fix you up... assuming it's Neutrik NC3FX ends we're talking about here. If the ends are run without the "O" rings in bad situations, it's possible to permanently tweek the contact points inside the connector housing... rendering the connector useless.
