Members Not Serial
ouch on the JRX. my drummer bought a set of those for the band and they take a rather ham-fisted aproach to eq'ing to reduce the pain induced at some freqs. no, i am not being a smart ass. those are peaky speakers and have nasty horns. afaik they may even be piezo horns, they sound like it. Members prosigna
Coaster would suggest you use Shure SM-58 mics to tame those speakers. *** runs and hides *****
Members Coppertone
I guess I should add that this system will only be used for DJ'ing (mp3 music playback)....if that helps.
Members Not Serial
Coaster would suggest you use Shure SM-58 mics to tame those speakers most definately. seriously though, those speakers can sound acceptable with some careful eq. but never great. fire them up and be shocked. CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted February 20, 2007 CMS Author Share Posted February 20, 2007 I'd tend to agree about the speakers. Who here, if anyone, recommended them? I'd have suggested Peavey or Yamaha Club in that general price range. Or save up and move to the JBL MRX range.
Members Coppertone
Well, I listened to them in the store, and really liked them. I liked them on paper, and they sound really nice (to me) for as loud as I can stand it. The peavey's (PV) didn't have speakon's, and the SP's (were a couple hundred more). Please tell me if I made a horrible mistake. Are my ears decieving me?
Members Preacher Will
IMHO, In that price range (low $300.00's), they aren't bad sounding cabs. They are a little clearer than the Yammie Clubs and the comparable Peavey's(both of which I think sound a little muddy). Basically you get what you pay for.
