Members Unalaska
I remember quite well actually, last weekend: casino band playing a smaller room to about 100 peeps. I was told the stage was 15x8 and we have a 5pc band. Well it's actually in a corner and the stage is about 13' in diameter. Coverage should be 180 degrees but the bar along the long wall doesn't need to be hit so it's an akward pattern. I showed up with a vocal only PA... Yamaha MG8/2FX (4xlr, 1 stereo, FX built in). We had 4 vocal mics, 3 monitor mixes (this board only has 1 post FX send for FX). Mix 1 & 2 were tapped from the inserts on ch 1 & 2 (me only mix). Mix 3 was from the right output and mains was left main out. EQ was 3 band fixed eq. So I couldn't remember having to use 3 band fixed in a while. Lately it's been 4 band w/ 2 swept mids or 4 band fully parametric (01V). Maybe one swept mid (mackie) but it's been a while. With vocals mostly all you need is a low cut and that's it. So anyone done this lately??
Members Squier Fat Telecaster
My bandmate's Mackie CR1604......I wish it at least had an HPF filter for the vocals.
Members Unalaska
Oh yeah, the ORIGINAL CR1604. The inserts were POST FADE!! 4 post aux sends and the 1st one had a switch that routed it to a prefade monitor out. I had 2 of those boards and they were the {censored} at the time. No way now...p
