Odd question

A megaphone won't stay on for an entire set, if you want to use an authentic megaphone, you would either have to turn it on/off by hand, or you could open it up and rig a foot switch to turn it on/off.

 

Or you could fake it. These threads offer some advice (mostly the same), and if you played around with it for 30 minutes or so, you could probably get something pretty close to the real thing:

looking to do something similar to what anti-flag does. but they have one of the shoulder mount megaphones that actually has a hole to mount it on a stand (and as well a clever idea to mic it with a wireless lavaliere mic)

 

it's for my bass player. he still plays bass while using it, it is currently only on 1 song but we can use it where necessary. the hose clamp idea is interesting. just have to figure out how that's going to work.

 

this is mainly for a live application so the compressor talk isn't exactly what i was looking for.

 

i don't think more duct tape is going to matter either, a mega phone is pretty heavy actually.
