Members supersounds dj
is time correction really needed?,i have 4 cerwing vega EL-36B folded horn bass cabinets and 4 sp-4 full range peaveys on top of them,i read on a manual that i need to delay the full range speakers about 2 ms/meter of horn to achieve phase linearity,is that really needed?how can i delay the full range signal if i need to?my crossover has a delay feature only on the low band. Members agedhorse
For your application, it's not going to make any real difference IMO. You can't delay using what you have now. To determine the correct amount of delay, you need some test equipment in addition to the crossover. With your subs, there is enough varience due to internal phase variation that it's not going to be a deal breaker either way. If you are planning on biampingthe SP-4's, that also may not make as much of a difference as you might think. The passive x-over is pretty decent as is. Unless you find yourself running out of full range headroom, the added work might outweigh the benefits. What amps are you using on the SP-4's? Members supersounds dj
im using a qsc 3402 for the sp4's and another 3402 for the subs, and maybe a cs800 on the hf drivers not sure about the last one yet.
