Best way to run delay to vocals?

Here's the situation:

I do a solo acoustic act with some looping. I also run my mic through the looper (a Boss RC-20XL) to do some loops. But, I'd like to add delays to my vocals by getting another delay pedal (already have a Line 6 DL4 for the acoustic). I really like the DL4 b/c it has 3 presets and the tap tempo. Can I (should I?) run a DL4 between the mic and the RC-20XL? Or, is there a more efficient way to do this? Any suggestions on setup, or even alternate delay units I could employ?
