Members imnotded
This might be a really simple problem and I was just retarded this weekend. I have an Audio Technica ATW-R3100 receiver and ATW-T310 UniPak
Members Axisplayer
The following comes from the manual for the unit: Setting Audio Input Level for transmitters ATW-T310 and ATW-T341 transmitter A 4-position audio input gain setting, selected through the function menu, serves to match the audio input level to the transmitter for best modulation with minimum distortion. Choices are +12 dB, +6 dB, 0 dB and -6 dB. (Default value: +6 dB.) Select the highest setting that does not result in over- modulation with the highest audio/instrument input levels (an AF indication on the receiver no higher than
Members imnotded
That I will check. I really should look for my manual. Just seems strange that its worked fine for me for over a year and now wants to do this.
Members Axisplayer
Did the board channel show a hotter than normal signal?
Members agedhorse
Did you happen to look at the AF meter on the receiver display? That's exactly what it's for. If the meter indicates the signal is too hot, turn down the transmitter level as Axisplayer suggested.
Members BillESC
Ran into the same situation today at a service call at a church. They all of a sudden had no gain on one of their wireless mics. Turns out the transmitter was set to -6dB instead of the +6dB which is the factory default. People who don't know what they are doing really shouldn't be pushing buttons.

Then they argue about how they know what they are doing and they read about it in some magazine article or their friend the audio buddy knows so much about this stuff and blah, blah, blah. Members imnotded
Yeah, the meter was peaking. I never realized that you could turn it up or down from the pack, even though it would be absolutely retarded if you couldnt. I guess I should stop leaving my stuff there. Its like when you cant find your keys and you are searching everywhere for them because you just had them. Then you look down and notice you are holding them and you breath a sigh of relief and realize how retarded you are
