Members turbocody
I just bought some 715's to replace my Mpros for my small FOH rig. And I was interested at the results of the 2 cabs side by side. First thing I noticed is how HIFI the Mpro sounded, alot of 6k-up with it. With the SRX at first sounded smoother, no bright hi end, low end is there and present. Did my first gig with the 715's tonight and was surprised how much fuller(tone) the vocals had. I was posting this thread to just kind of give my thoughts on this box and to see what your thoughts were on my findings between the two. Looks like all of my Mpro's are going strictly to monitor duty.(they are still a nice speaker) Setup tonight was 150 crowd bar7 Piece Band2xSRX715's 2500w2xSRX718's 2500wDR 260(proper tunings from jbl)Crown K2 ampsLS9-32 Cody
Members agedhorse
Be sure to look at the recommended tunings for the M-Pros, and at least apply the baisc eq to them. Comparing one with proper eq to one without is not a good comparison IMO.
Members turbocody
I was comparing both of them in my living room side by side with my parasound preamp and a k2 amp, with eq flat on both. Back when I got the DR260 I had a hard time finding the tuning data for the Mpro stuff.
Members agedhorse
When comparing, you need to do an apples to apples comparison otherwise it's meaningless.
