Connecting mixer Aux sends and returns to returns on snake.

Hello everyone, need a bit of help here. I need to connect my mixer to the monitor amp and an effects unit that will be on the stage through the snake. The AUX sends and returns on my mixer are 1/4" jacks. The snake has balanced male and female XLR sends and returns (16x8). Would 1/4" to XLR adapters work to connect the board sends and returns to the snake? Do I need transformers for this? Is there a better way to do this?

yeah that works. also you could use 31 band eq's with xlr/trs i/o at foh.

 

if you do make cheaters i would recommend 3' cheaters or around 18". any less and stress may give your wiring issues.

And what's the FX unit on stage? Make & model?

 

And why is there an FX unit on stage?

It is a Yamaha MG206C.

Don't use barrel adapters - it's too easy to damage an equipment jack. Use adapter cables. Or just change the snake connectors to what you need them to be.

Then yes, as others have suggested, a simple Male 1/4" TRS x Male XLR adaptor cable will get your monitor aux's suitably plugged into your snake... since the aux sends on that board are balanced Female 1/4" TRS

Thanks for the help. I ended up making my own "cheater" cable like the ones linked above. Soldered them up and they work great
