Members agedhorse
I've worked with several acts that like wedges from behind. Provided they sing strongly it's not a problem at all. This may also be supported by IEM's.

Members Telecruiser
is that Pechanga? I do not know but the only time I went to Pechanga it was an indoor venue. This looks to be outdoors.
Members witesol
oh, he was just at Pechanga, I had planned on going to help work but had a death in the family.. I love Vince
Members NUSound
You can also see two wedges in the bottom corners of the pic. My guess is that these are what he is using for most of the vocals. Cable management is kind of sloppy on that stage too....
Members ey86798
Maybe it's so he can hear his guitar, coz he won't hear much from those 2 amps unless he plays lying down
Members Chickentown
I like how even VG has a pedal board that's one pedal too small (notice the yellow stomper on the floor). I thought it was only me...and every other guitar player I know

Members stratogib
Those Rivera R 100-212's are pretty loud. I own one and think two would be plenty loud for Vince to hear himself. (without lying down).

Members bassred
Maybe it's a band mix and his front wedges are vocal-only? Would love to hear about the actual reason/setup!
Members NUSound
Maybe it's a band mix and his front wedges are vocal-only? Would love to hear about the actual reason/setup! That's almost certainly what it is, and it's a personal preference thing. It probably feels more natural for him to have the sound sources coming from different locations, just like what happens in a rehearsal room or a band setup that doesn't have PA reinforcement. The two wedges in front could mean he's using a super-cardioid vocal mic, or it could be that he wants them to mirror his stereo guitar amps. It really just comes down to the guy on stage. An aside... separate speakers for different sound sources does have a real and noticeable increase on sound quality (generally speaking). My personal experience is limited to LCR rigs - vocals in C, band in LR, but you may want to do some reading about Dave Rat's (and now U2's) double-hung PA's. Heres a link: http://forums.prosoundweb.com/index.php?topic=105954.50 2nd post on that page is from Dave.
