Members ChiroVette
For a pair of JBL612m's over subs, I believe that the only viable choice is a pair of the absurdly expensive SS4-BK's for a little over $200.00. But I am going to be getting a second pair of the 612m's to double up on the tops, which would go on a pair of tripod stands. Is it as important to go with JBL stands here? The SS2-BK tripods look like incredibly well constructed stands, but are $185.00 each ($370.00 for the pair!). I saw this on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/310350541090?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Now here is my dilemma: The 612m's are very light, so perhaps a lower end stand is just as good for my needs. The PAIR of those stands is a mere $55.00. However, I am investing a lot of money in my PA and the phrase "You get what you pay for!" keeps flying through my head. Plus I know nothing about those inexpensive stands. In short, if skimping on poles will save me about $325.00 (almost HALF the cost of a 612 cabinet!) but would be a bad idea, then I will bite the proverbial bullet and get the SS2-BK's, with the intent of "crying once." But you guys know way more about this stuff than I do, so by all means, advise away! Thanks!
Members RoadRanger
There are some good third party poles - hopefully someone here knows the make & models.

Members ChiroVette
Those look really nice, and less than HALF the cost of the "offical" JBL stands.I am going to look at the other TS models besides the TS80B's, and while I do, what do you guys think of this set? I assume these are a no?http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Support-JS-TS50-2-Tripod-Speaker/dp/B007EWI572/ref=sr_1_4?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1360332784&sr=1-4&keywords=ts80
Members srp72ee
I have both the TS-90B and TS-99B. They work great for speakers and are stable within their height range
