Speaker Stands Question

For a pair of JBL612m's over subs, I believe that the only viable choice is a pair of the absurdly expensive SS4-BK's for a little over $200.00. But I am going to be getting a second pair of the 612m's to double up on the tops, which would go on a pair of tripod stands.

Is it as important to go with JBL stands here? The SS2-BK tripods look like incredibly well constructed stands, but are $185.00 each ($370.00 for the pair!).

I saw this on eBay:

Now here is my dilemma: The 612m's are very light, so perhaps a lower end stand is just as good for my needs. The PAIR of those stands is a mere $55.00. However, I am investing a lot of money in my PA and the phrase "You get what you pay for!" keeps flying through my head. Plus I know nothing about those inexpensive stands.

In short, if skimping on poles will save me about $325.00 (almost HALF the cost of a 612 cabinet!) but would be a bad idea, then I will bite the proverbial bullet and get the SS2-BK's, with the intent of "crying once." But you guys know way more about this stuff than I do, so by all means, advise away! :)

Thanks!

Those look really nice, and less than HALF the cost of the "offical" JBL stands.

I am going to look at the other TS models besides the TS80B's, and while I do, what do you guys think of this set?

I assume these are a no?
