  • Yamaha SPX "Freeze" effect

I'm using a O1V96 and amongst the effects it has a patch called Freeze. I understand it to be a sampler, but there is little documantation on how to use it correctly.

I think I can record a processed kick drum into it and use the mic signal from a live kit to trigger the sampled sound. Is this correct? Could someone walk me thru the process?

     Thanks.

I don't own the mixer but bet that feature is for some kind of midi device to trigger the sample.

I checked out the manual but as you stated really doen't give much to go on.

Also couldn't find a Yamaha forum or a newsgroup  but found this https://www.facebook.com/YamahaLiveSound so maybe post the question there.
