  • Peavey SP3BX & SP4BX feedback requested

    Hi All,

Has anyone run the Peavey SP3BX or SP4BX? I am talking about the newest generation with the new style BW driver(s). My thoughts are for FOH for small venue and side wash for bigger venues.

Links to the data sheets are below, I would really appreciate feedback on any experiences you have had.

    Thanks,

    Rob

Did I mention the new forum sucks?

The SP3BX is a pretty good sounding box, the SP4BX is ok but nothing special. Take a look at the weight and see if that's not a deal killer for you regardless of anything else.

      Thanks guys,

I have listened to both of them with the same subs I picked up and did like the sound of the 3's better, hard to tell with just music going through them but they were definitely crisper. Glad no one had any horror stories so will move forward with the 3's; the other part I like about the 3's is they have the same rating as my subs so I can go with 3 of the same amp and have a back-up that swaps right in for tops or bottoms.

Used a pair of the previous model. Great speakers for the price if the weight isn't an issue.

I got them cheap though. Price we paid at the time was A$649 which 3 years ago would have scored you JRX. Hence I say very good for the price.

        Thanks guys,

I can get a pair of the new ones for just under $1200, just waiting for a package deal on some power amps to decided if I am getting just the speakers from them or amps as well.
