I bought a new PA.... again.

After experiencing a handful of amplifier reliability setbacks with my KS Audio subs,  I was able to return them for a refund.   They are truly standup guys over there...  I don't know of many companies that take that much pride in their products and would have offered that type of compensation.   Having said that,   I really did LOVE the KS C12 tops, but the subs that had all the amplification / processing / etc in them,   let me down more times than I'd care to admit.

So...   I decided to enter the world of mini line arrays.

After speaking with RCF USA and my GC Pro rep,  I went ahead and purchased (4) DB Tech DVA T4's  and (2) RCF TTS18a subs.   Picked them up on Wednesday ...  and we had a wedding this past Saturday evening. So we pretty much threw these things "into the fire" with no real testing.

Firstly,  I have to say... it was VERY easy piecing these things together.  The locking pins and rack/adjustments are super-easy to make.   And being that they are so tiny...  30lbs a box makes for very easy lifting.

The sound...

The DVA T4 tops... well, they certainly are not the KS C12's  (those were magical).    But these do putout a good amount of level, and it was evenly distributed over the coverage area.   Was easily able to fill a 80x40 ballroom with sound.

I'm curious if anyone has done a SMAART test on these and can provide a freq. graph.    Anyone??

TT18A subs...  Wow.   Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!  It's amazing how much better these things are....  they're surprisingly tight and punchy for an 18.... but also have very good depth.

Good times.

hhmmm yes something that drinks will not sit on ** ponders a solution** oh looks like quite a nice system! Is it advertised as a true ARRAY or as a curved output device? hehe, I read somewhere like the JBL VRX are not listed as a true array but some "curvature" somehing or another. Any way you could give an estimate about how much these go for or MSRP?

I like your application of what looks like acoustic foam to the top of the sub... as a display rack... but also it likely doubles nicely as a drink discourager... and anti-coaster (?).

YEP.  Exactly on all accounts.
