Members Shawn Limy
Is this a must have, or, can i get by with just mounting them to the front rails, anyone have some insight to this? I will be putting two Crown xti 6000's and two Crown xit 4000's in this rack http://www.audiopile.net/products/Cases/CU\_Series\_Roadracks/CUDJ-P-22/CRUDJ-P-22\_series\_cutsheet.shtml the 6000's are deeper than the 4000's and the rack is the 16 space one. Members jimash
Put the bigger ones on the bottom. You might be tempted to leave space between them. Don't.The most common use for the back rails is to install a rack of fans.

Members agedhorse
In general, you do NOT need to use external fans for almost all modern front to back ventilated amps that have internal fans. In fact, external fans installed against the design flow can CAUSE big problems. Rear rail are good for amp support, I/O panel and filler panel installation
Members Rob_H
You can use good quality plastic zip ties for the time being until your brackets show up; if you haven't used them before, you will be surprised how much rear support they provide
