Started an advance for a multi-media type of event with live music. DJ, big screen stuff all going on at the same time (more or less) I contacted the DJ to see what he's bringing so I can figure out if we have enough juice in the venue with fog machines and everything else. I ask him what he's got and he answers; "My amp is 4000 watts and the speakers come up to about my shoulders" I swear to God that is exactly what he said. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO thankful he's not plugging into my system. I think I'll buy a new clown suit for the occasion.

Likely a good call there.  I'm facing a similar upcoming situation, and I didn't know how to handle it.  I'm thinking your solution is spot-on.  Now I'm torn... about which new clown outfit to get...

I recently did a show where the DJ did a pretty darn good job. Not the most technically minded but he didn't drool, didn't fart, and didn't leave a pile of peanut shells on the floor. They are out there, just not very common.
