Members 1960LesPaul
There are 2 for sale on my local Craiglist for 50 bucks. I am in the market for some overheads. Will these do the job well and are they worth the 50.00?

Members 1960LesPaul
Thanks Rez for the document. I do remember the Beta Green series but not the quality. Anyone ever use these? Sorry for asking. Still playing catch up on gear in the pro audio world.
Members Coaster
it would just be another thing you need to buy twice.
Members Rezrover
I though the Beta Green's were marketed as an "affordable" option.
Members 1960LesPaul
Well I was going to buy the Audiopile 300C set and it looks like that is a better option than these I am guessing.
Members agedhorse
I though the Beta Green's were marketed as an "affordable" option. Lots of stuff is marketed as more affordable. That doesn't mean that it's "good".
Members Rezrover
That's kinda why I left it at affordable.
Members JarrettFlint
I own a BG 5.0 vocal mic (condenser)... Sounded great and had almost no handling noise due to the internal shock mount on the element. It's no longer working... Probably something to do with the on/off switch. Members 1960LesPaul
Thanks everyone. I think I will stick with the Audiopile 300C set. I have been super pleased with everything I have from EWI so far. I only brought it up because it showed up on CL this morning.
Members Coaster
i have a couple BG6.0 mics i got for near nothing, had them stolen and got two of the three back for near the price i paid for the three (yes, if you get robbed, the cops find it, you may have to buy it back) in the case of the mics i have, they work ok on high toms, congas, things like that. quality = ok. i dont think the BG are horrible, but i dont think i would put $50 into a pair.
