Members Leo Jane
Hello Friends. I handle sound at this pub every friday. The Pub has OHM LM-5 Tops and Subs and 4 QSC HPR122i monitors. I have tuned the PA's nicely to overcome acoustic flaws in the venue. I check a vocal mic and it sounds great on the PA. However on the monitors, the sound is nothing more than 'ok'. I try to EQ the monitors to sound like the PA but somehow it always turns out funny. So i just levae it flat and EQ out the feedback frequencies (if required).Any tips or a good work around that would be really welcome!

Members Crownman
I feel safe in saying that the monitors are almost never going to sound like foh. Leaving the eq flat and just ringing out and feedback is the same thing I would do unless the performer asks otherwise.
Members Leo Jane
Its a Allen & Heath WZ3. All the outs (aux and mains) are connected to DBX 31 band EQ's.
Members Leo Jane
Thanks for that reply bro. Gives me some encouragement. I guess this problem is because of different makes of PA and monitors. Is it?
Members dboomer
You'll also need to check and see if you are actually sending the same signal to both. Depending on the mixer, some include the EQ from the mains out and some don't.
Members Leo Jane
Thanks for the reply boomer. That is not the case. It sends the same signal to the PA and the monitors. If i EQ on the console, it changes on the monitor as well.
