I found a guy on craigslist with a pair of QSC HPR153's that he says blew the horn diaphragms.

There might be something wrong with the amp I dont know.   I just got back and got them into

the garage and the cabs need paint, and the grills.

Basically I had a Mackie mixer with effects built into it in mint condition I picked up from our local church

for 100.00 a couple years ago.   So I traded the guy even for these QSC 3ways.

I will open them up today and see what  is going on with them.   I think I got a good deal.

Sometimes I love Craigslist :D

These things are pretty much bullet proof are they not?

Well here is what I found

All the drivers are Celestion.   All the drivers are ok except for the compression drivers.

They are neodymium drivers.  Celestion T5455A

98.00 for the entire driver, or 79.00 for the diaphragm.

I pulled the amps.  Strange that the output transistors on the highs are shorted on both amps/ on both loudspeakers.  Fuses are not blown for the high amps.  One fuse per amp. (buss)

These are the transistors at the top of the heat sink on the plate amp and heat travels up right?

I measured 50v across the mid, and low amp transistors.

No  voltage reading at all across the high amps transistors/npn/pnp

Off the bat the NPN/PNP on the highs read a dead short just with a check with no power on the amp.

I found the schematic, and parts list.

Also, I found a service bulletin with new replacement numbers for the old transistor numbers.

Bascially 6.00 per transistor X4

Everything else looks good on these amps.

New diaphragms 160.00

20.00 in transistors.

I need to paint them, and the grills also.

Any input would be great!
