Members dbMontana
Only as a learning tool ie. "So what's the factory's idea as to the difference in HFP, gate, comp,PEQ between a male and female vocal? Or the same for the difference between the factory setting for an acoustic vs. jazz guitar? Other than that, no. I build my own "presets" during practices or store them from a previous gig.
Members minn12
I've used them as a starting point for a lot of shows at venues that have a Presonus. This is for when I don't already have a 'saved scene' from mixing the same band previously. It saves me a lot of time when getting ready for a show when time is short, and there are a lot of inputs to deal with. You can load the entire show in a minute or two, then adjust from there when sound-checking. I usually wind up turning off most of the comps and gates, however. Seems like their presets use those on most everything. Some disagree, but I do find them overall to be useful and time saving.
Members modulusman
Usually as a starting point. Then I do some tweeking to adjust.
Members agedhorse
I wouldn't want to do that as well, the solution is more complicated than the problem it is trying to solve.
