How are you using your DCX2496 ? ?

I'm thinking of getting a DCX2496 but I haven't decided whether or not to dump my passive mains for another set of passives or go active.

If I stay passive has anyone used it in this mode:

Stereo L + R Mains

1 -  Mono Sub

2 - Separate Monitor Mixes

Now if I go with Acitve Mains I will most likely get the ART310MKIII

That would leave the single Sub and Monitor mix above.

Would I need to somehow co-ordinate the ART310MKIII with the DCX2496 or just use the 2496 on the sub and monitors and have two non-co-ordinated DSP mixes going on?

I'd like to figure this out before I make the next purchase.
