Members sants
Dust the dust cover look small on this. I know the speaker is supposed to have a 4 inch vc but the cap looks like its 3". Does it look like the driver has been replaced or does the size of the dust cap look normal for this cab? I always thought the dust cap size corelated to the voice coil as well. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee371/sants28/null_zps47a2068e.png
Members agedhorse
The dust cep has nothing to do with the voice cool diameter, other than its not smaller than the vc.
Members sants
So if the vc is 4" the dust cap should be at least 4"? The dust cap on the speaker looks kind of small. That's why I asked. These are 2 hours from me and I didn't want to make the trip if the speakers are not original
Members Vinny D
Ask the seller to send you a picture of the back of the driver to see if there are any markings on it.Seeing how this is a old cabinet it might have a RCF driver in it (that Yorkville used to use), if it does then it probably is the original driver, if it is anything but a RCF driver then it has been changed. MIGHT have been changed.FWIW - I've also seen a lot of variation in dust caps on OEM drivers before... RCF or not.A 4" VC driver might have a 4" dust cap... or a 5" dust cap... or a 6" dust cap, etc. Still a 4" VC driver though...
