Members BillESC
Just finished modeling a new sound system for a dining hall measuring 40' x 150' with just a 7'8" ceiling. To provide a flat 96 dB through out the space will require 54 recessed speakers, 700 feet of cabling and about two days to install. If the ceiling had been just two feet taller it would have cut the number of speakers almost in half... Members dboomer
I usually find it takes as many ceiling speakers as it would ceiling lights to light the place.
Members dcastar
Did they HAVE to be ceiling speakers? Could you not recess the speakers into the walls?
Members Miko Man
Bill, that's not a hall, that's a cave (or a culvert). ;-) My short pipe and drape wouldn't even fit under that ceiling. Yikes! Mark C.

I worked a Real Estate show once where, depending on the tide, the ceiling would be 3-4 feet higher or lower at different times of the day. The hotel was built on a swamp and the floor of the basement convention center floated. At one point in the day there was a nice 12" colonial baseboard all around the perimeter of the room. At other times that same baseboard was a chair rail/wainscot.
