Do omni direction subs have rear projection or back blow ?  that can cause low end feedback if a vocal mic is to close to their proximity. Since they have sphere shape pattern.

Not if you are running them aux-driven properly biggrin.gif. Even if not aux-driven you should have your vocal mics high passed.

All subs are effectively omnidirectional because of the frequency range compared with the baffle dimensions. If you have a lot of sub gain relative to system flat response, the excess gain can cause feedback because the system becomes unstable at low frequencies on inputs that have enough gain. High pass filters are inportant in this case, and aux fed subs can also help.

Have you determined that this problem exists with your friends system or is this hypothetical?

Well they text me from their gig so pretty so it's a problem. Which they're playing so I guess they solved the problem since haven't got a text back.
