Members Just Mike
Or is it truly in another league than the GC/MF offerings? And how would you compare it to the Yorkville Elite stuff? At roughly twice the price are we at the point of diminishing returns?
Members abzurd
Ah, the point of diminishing returns ..... We'll that's different for all of us. I have the RCF 522A (the prior version of the 722A). To me it was a perfect blend of quality sound, light weight, and step up in quality without breaking the bank. Yes, it's 1.5-2X the price of QSC, JBL, and Yamaha offerings, and frankly is suitable for pretty much the same applications, it's just a better speaker, particularly the compression driver. You may want to consider the 722A though. If it's like the 500 series the 12" actually has lower frequency extension as the box sizes are the same for both the 12 and 15 inch models. That makes it a large 12" box or an undersized 15" box. I'm sure they sound slightly different, but different isn't necessarily better. The 12" will have faster transient response and save you a few lbs and a few bucks. Members Just Mike
Good point about the 12" as I'm coming from JBL SR4722x's.
Members Audiopyle Sound
I haven't suggested any RCF models to you because none except the TT models have a switchable higpass filter, which means that you would need a crossover to run them with your LS801P subs. Members Just Mike
Hmmm...I've got a DRPA, but the whole point of going active was to simplify the rig.
