Does anyone have experience with Meyer's speakers? I was at an Oktoberfest recently and the band had a couple of what I believe may have been Meyer UPJunior speakers, based on the looks/size though I never got the model number, for their mains with no sub. I thought to myself, how are they going to be able to handle a crowd this size with such small speakers? After hearing them though, I was shocked by the clarity and volume. They didn't need a lot of low end of course, but all the instruments and vocals were crystal clear. Although I love my JBL PRX612's, whatever these speakers were knocked my socks off. I talked to the guy that brought the sound equipment and he told me they run about 4K a piece...could that be right?

Welcome to the "step up", both in size/performance ratio as well as cost.

Be sure any used Meyer includes the proper drivers.

I think they may of been UPAs. If it was a decent size crowd, I doubt the UPJunior would of been able to handle it. It's only a 8 in woofer and tops out in the 120ish db range; where as the UPA can go to the 130s db range.
