Members Калина
I've never seen that tops were in the stands as the picture though, it looks pretty interesting
Members jonthomas
I wonder what is lighting up all the booty on the dance floor? The Beer banners ar fugly.
Members DanBAP
Aside from pilseners all being kind of gross, no, not that I see. -Dan.
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted December 20, 2013 CMS Author Share Posted December 20, 2013 It would be really easy to play, "let's crash the lighting towers". No ballast, no outriggers, no tiedowns.
Members Axisplayer
Looks like a VJ setup and as soon as they turn on the stage lights, the video's will be gone...can't see them when you light the screen. If that isn't a VJ screen, forget my comment.
Members agedhorse
Looks like a performance art set that uses the tall video screens as performers. I saw something like this at NAMM a few years back
Members Rob_H
Sort of hard to tell but it looks like it is on sand and there are no low ground pressure bases on the stage supports, also noticed the lack of anchors on the lights....almost looks like as soon as some more weight is put on the stage it is coming down and knocking the lights over with it
Members Shaster
As mentioned, lighting truss not secured at all properly. Lights to close to the "tent" material - especially if they aren't LEDs. Bass bins will make the light towers move. Bass bins themselves could move and take the tops with them. Don't know much about DJ stuff but I hope they were using CD's not records - or had well shock mounted turntables. No scrim in front of stage. As mentioned, no ground support for stage legs, although there is a flimsy support for truss. The only thing right about this picture is that the event seems to be about beer! Members Pro Sound Guy
Do you realize how much it would take to shake those truss towers to move?No way will they move from those subs. The only thing I see that I would change is putting the subs on the ground for a 1/2 spaceplacement. My personal preference would also be more separation of the tops for better enjoyment of astereo effect.
Members vort
Hard to tell, but doesn't it look like the lights are zip tied to the truss? I don't see any clamps.

Members shrubber
This rig is indeed set up on sea sand..... for a summer beach party venue in a marquee tent here in the village where I live down in the southern hemisphere..... I was struck by the rather strange "arrays" which aren't, but the other comments are very enlightening to me.... I'll mosey on down some time this week and take a listen. I'll check out whatever VJ stuff may be happening as well.
Members witesol
Yea, zip tied par cans.. And the TV monitor way too low for anyone to see past the first could rows...or worse if standing peeps
Members agedhorse
The "line arrays" are not a tight 15 degrees vertical in practice. I would expect 30 deg above 2khz widening below that. Sure looks like a static art installation type show with everything happening on video. Wire ties on lights is questionable, BUT those may be 3 pound fixtures and with nobody near and no danger of contact in the event of a fall, IMO it's not a big deal. CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted December 22, 2013 CMS Author Share Posted December 22, 2013 Yeah, I guess the "good news" is that the towers are likely to fall toward the stage, given the mounting of the lighting.

I think the beer signs are just stretched fabric, and it looks like there's a dj mixer popping up from the top of the tv podium thing. On the subject of video art - I'm open to a lot of things. I may not get into all of the weird art that's out there, but I can respect many things. I have friends studying new music composition and I go to their shows and I mostly enjoy myself. Heck, even bad art I can find amusing if it doesn't take itself too seriously. But man, if the video art I've seen isn't complete crap. I'm not talking about low-budget stuff being displayed in some warehouse full of hipsters. This is at places like the ICA in Boston; curated shows at art festivals, etc. It insults me as a patron and as a friend of real artists who struggle to feed their kids and would love to get the kind of exposure that these clowns are getting. -Dan.
