Members wesg
That was really interesting, thanks! Anybody know why the lectern mic setup was changed? Current POTUS personal preference, or is there something about his mic technique? I'm curious how much of that gear gets damaged by snowfall. Do those JBL arrays have paper cone speakers? Do they pass audio through them to discourage snow settling? Wes
Members agedhorse
The JBL cabinets have a foam liner inside the grilles and the cabinets are a composite, so not a big deal. Also, the ones shown earlier on the ground have their slip covers on. Snow is a lot easier to manage than rain.
Members fdew
I read another report that said the SM 57 was Trumps choice. He found durning the campaign that a good mic very close worked for him. He wasn't about to try something else for this speach. There were backups near by but not right there on the podium. As a sound guy that would have made me very nervous.
