OT: gig withdrawal

We last played on July 4th so have had 3 weekends off in a row (a wedding on the 16th got called off). I've made the most of the last 3 weeks (trip to DC, my first real music festival, and an Ohio Brewery festival, but wow am I ready to play.

I'm a big nerd and have logged every gig since the band started in March of 2001. So last night I did a look back on "time between gigs" and realized that this 25 day layoff is the longest time between gigs the band has had since September 29th of 2001. That's crazy! I guess it came at a good time as I was getting a little burned out. I guess I can allow myself a break every 15 years.

I too go through periods of "gig withdrawl".

During Jan/Feb/March I go a few weeks between gigs....

After two consecutive weekends off my wife will say "don't you have a gig to do this weekend?"

Maybe she's trying to get rid of me...

Earlier this summer I went a month without a gig.

Totally fine though. I went back to school to get out of this career :p

My day job is something different entirely. I gig almost every week for 15 years for "fun" I guess..... Some more fun than others.
