Members Audiopile
I have a somewhat "spare" Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 amp. I generally pack it along to gigs as a back-up... but I'm wondering if it would be ok-fine to drive our drummer's buttkicker with this amp (if I'm packing the amp along, I might as well use it)? I figure on patching from an aux out on our mixer (Carvin RX1200L) into the aux in on the Shuttle. eh?
Members agedhorse
Yes, fine as long as butt kicker is 4 ohms or greater.
Members RoadRanger
The pro ones are 2 ohms, I think some of the home and gaming models are 4 ohms?
Members agedhorse
Yes, that's why I mentioned the impedance as being important. In the pro lines there are both 2 and 4 ohm drivers, but their website is not very complete with regards to specs on all lines.
Members Audiopile
Mine's the 4 ohm "mini" model. I'll lash-up the BK to the Shuttle this weekend and see how it works out.
Members agedhorse
Should work fine. Watch the placement, you don't want to make a trip to the proctologist
Members Audiopile
Should work fine. I'm happy to report, last night, it indeed did work fine. Hooked right up and flawlessly kicked all night long. Our drummer was most grateful.

Members Audiopile
There's a little more to the story: Last evening's performance included two bands... the two bands used the same drum kit. You should have seen the look on the other band's drummer's face when they launched into their first song... we didn't tell him ahead of time that the drum throne was butt-kicker equipped.
