Members Mr Blues Posted October 15, 2014 Members Share Posted October 15, 2014 I purchased one of these mics today .They are lovely sounding. First of all it was smaller then I expected. The mic is a dynamic mic and it reminded me of my Old AKG C 535 in terms of size. . (The AKG is a condesner mic) don't let the size fool you it has a big open sound with lots of balls, I can see why its not cheap between £250 and £300 but worth it. What I like about this mic is that it has a nice bottom end a s well as a air feeling to it with nice sweet highs too.. Although we use ours mostly for kick & bass cabs, We've had great results using it on horns (everything from brass to bari sax (which it excels at). Vibes, marimbas, lesli low cabinets are a few more examples (it's even an excellent vocal mic for some voices). They ARE pricey but more than worth it.
