Members Tomm Williams
Anybody had any success making your own cable ramps? The prices on these things seems a bit high for a chunk of molded rubber.
Members agedhorse
Specially molded "rubber". The rubber part of it is cheap, it's the molding and tooling and shipping costs that are expensive...
Members Tomm Williams
What about using "Treks" or synthetic decking ? it would be impervious to the elements, doesn't warp and a channel could be easily routed in the bottom ? Members agedhorse
There are ADA issues, interlocking requirements, cable retention issues, etc. On Yellow Jackets (and their ilk), the cable is retained within the assembly so if it gets kicked or disturbed the cables remain integrated within the assembly. The ramp slope can't be more than 1:12 slope for ADA reqts. so if the assembly is 1.5" high, a total of 18" of width PLUS the flat part would be required to meet ADA. Members Bill.ESC
In a pinch, I made these for a RG6 run. Used 3" sheetrock screws to attach them to the asphalt.

Members Pro Sound Guy
I saw that discount ramp site as well. 29.00 for a 1 meter length is affordable. I saw a cart you can load several of the lengths of cable covers on. You could always carry a cattle prod watching carefully and when someone steps on your snake zap them. Ok...im kidding!
