Recommend me a mic!

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all doing great!

I'm writing today to know which microphone can you recommend me for live singing (acoustic and future live band proyects). I just purchased a Peavey Escort 6000 and plan to start performing soon.

I will be claiming a PV1 Wireless Microphone soon, but it's not a bad idea to have another professional mic.

I have been thinking in Shure, Sennheiser, Heil, Blue Microphones, and others.

There are many choices and I just don't know which one to decide for.

My top picks would be the Heil (The Fin), and the Blue Encore 200. Those are the top ones I have in mind now.

My voice gets natural bass when amplified, so I'll need clarity and something that can sense me right. I sang thru a Shure Beta 87A or Beta 87C (don't know which one) and my voice sounded very good with the provided sound system.

My voice is similar to singers like Jose Jose, but I can pull high notes Bon Jovi/Richie Sambora style. My normal singing voice would be in the line of Elvis Presley voice (but I do not wish to impersonate him or anything. You could say I'm some where between baritone and tenor vocal registers.

I would like to know your opinions on which microphone could be great for my application. (Singer/Guitarist).

Feel free to ask me any question and thanks for all the help you can provide!

I have much experience with the Fin. It's basically a PR22 in his custom body. But, it does sound different and can be prone to feedback with it's different phase porting scheme. . If it's for the look, go ahead. If you want the sound, get a pr22 instead. Other than that, almost any $100+ handheld is fine with me. Some mate with your voice better. A regular 58 will never suck too. I prefer the encore 100.

Thanks for your kind reply ''witesol''. Very interesting what you said about The Fin. I will have that in mind.

About the Shure SM58. It doesn't work for my voice anymore. I have to scream and strain myself to reach ''normal'' high notes on that microphone. I really need something different than it now. I used to own one*

Thanks for your reply ''Witesol''. I'm writing once again since the site update deleted my reply.

The Shure SM58 no longer works in my voice. It's to bassy and I have to scream and struggle with the mic to get a good sound. My voice is not natural at all in that mic.

What do you think about the PR22 UT mic? Is it the same mic? Why do you prefer the Blue Encore 100 over the PR22?

I have been thinking of adquiring a Blue Encore 200 too.
