Members Christhee68
I was playing a beach wedding on Saturday. The weather was perfect. The bride and the guests were nice looking, and everything seemed to be great. I usually strum pop/country songs and sing, but today the bride wanted me to play an instrumental version of the
Members Mike McLaughlin
Wow, that is rude, especially to give a sales pitch for his wife's book!
Members Terry Allan Hall
While many preachers are very nice people, some are definitely jerks!...The couple turns starts walking down the aisle, and I start playing the song they requested. About halfway through the first verse, he yells,
Members Telecruiser
Though I don't do weddings I would have had a couple of words with him afterwards. Just because he is a man of the cloth doesn't mean he's not an asshat.
Members Bobby1Note
You really should have given that preacher-creature a good dressing-down. What a self-serving ego-centric jerk he was, Jeeesh.
Members the_big_e
I think that it's really the bride/grooms job to tell the preacher to get out the car, not yours. as long as they did not blame you for him being a jerk I think you are good, just move on I say. Hawking his wife's book at a wedding, this guy should be blacklisted from ever officiating a wedding ever again....
Members Miko Man
The minister acted like a jerk (a tacky one, too). You behaved appropriately by not making a scene. Your responsibilty is to the client (the wedding couple) and the sucess of the event. You did your part. Good job on holding your tongue under difficult circumstances. Mark C. Members FoulPhil
You should of interrupted the preacher the minute he started talking about his wife's book lol...

I would have said, I would NEVER interrupt you mid-ceremony and what you did was very very rude and uncouth. Try to give him a clue so he doesn't interrupt the wrong guy on the wrong day sometime. Members chemikool
WOW! That guy is a douche! I don't care that he is a "minister" and a "christian" because he obviously needs a third descriptor AKA "douchebag." If he did that at my wedding...not really sure how I would handle it. Moderators daddymack Posted October 18, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 18, 2012 I would have definitely had a brief discussion with him after the ceremony. Basically, we are both here to do our jobs, I won't interrupt yours, don't interrupt mine. End. Then, if he pulled what he did at the reception, I would have just kept playing over him. Members Bob Dey
The bride should give him a nice review on weddingwire with a zero rating! Is he new at this or just not care about his clients?
Members Bobby1Note
Maybe the "Preech" needs to put down his "good book" and the wife's book, and get himself a book on etiquette.http://www.amazon.com/Etiquette-For-...f=cm_lmf_tit_1
Members pdiddy
Wow - what a jerk. It's the equivalent you interrupting the ceremony to announce you have CD's for sale or something equally selfish.

Members SLScott86
I'm glad you didn't say anything to the groom. He noticed already and I'm sure had bigger fish to fry. The music stopping was only one symptom of the preacher interrupting. I'm sure the thought of you doing anything wrong didn't even cross their minds. The story would be "the preacher stopped the music," not "the musician stopped playing."
