Members willi
Hi I've got a volume pedal and it really isn't very responsive... only the last little bit of travel affects the signal. Is this down to a low input signal? I have my Clavinet D6 routed to a VoiceMaster Pro class A preamp (it's what I have on hand at the moment, even if it's not the best choice of preamp for a Clavinet), then this goes to a Wah, then to the Ernie Ball volume pedal. Should I place another preamp before the volume pedal? If I crank up the VoiceMaster, it seems like the pedal is still only responding in the last bit of travel. Is there something else going on? The pot isn't really scratchy... Thanks for your input.
Members goldenpiggy
The pot isn't scratchy, but it could still be worn out. What you described happened exactly with my Korg EXP-2. Wasn't scratchy, but didn't go all the way down in volume after a few years of use. If you know someone with a volume pedal, see if you can borrow it and do an A/B/A comparison. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you should be able to replace the pot.
