Members koolkat
Nothing wrong with that at all, unless of course, you own a desktop synth.
Phil O'Keefe
is there anything wrong with that? Not really, but that approach can lead to a lot of frustration if you're trying to get two pieces of gear to work and play well together... MIDI's actually pretty easy to understand if you put a little time into learning it, and it can be very useful for all kinds of things, both live and in the studio - and not just for keyboardists. Members ChipCurtis
I never got the midi thing. I just stab a key and hope a sound comes out .... is there anything wrong with that? Ha ha! You're a funny guy! Well, you needn't HAVE to get it, if you don't need it. Plenty of keyboardists somehow did without it prior to 1983. While I'm very well versed in MIDI, I don't use it that much anymore. For most gigs, it's just 2 keyboards (1 for piano, 1 for organ), and no need for a MIDI connection between the two. But, for the occasional gig where many sounds must be employed, and changed on a song-per-song basis, MIDI is your friend... especially if you have 2 or 3 or 4 boards that need changing ALL AT ONCE, and quickly.
