Members Skin flute
Hi, been trying to figure out how I can record the NE2 sounds direct into my Mac (latest MacBook pro) using logic. I already tried connecting my NE2 to my apogee duet using the 1/4" line-in, this did work. Isn't there a way to do it using midi? I already have USB midi interface and tried connecting it. But it's not reading the midi. How do I achieve this? Second, If can achieve this is there a way I can still connect my Roland a-80 as a controller for my the NE2 while recording . Like a daisy chain of some sort? Thanks !

Members Redhotpoker
Edit: "I have already made fool of my self on here plenty , surely will today again. "But some times my thoughts feel better spoken out loud. Even when I'm wrong." This is nothing personal, and you have 'every right' to do what you like.Unknown preprogrammed memory here. I'm trying to improve too, honest. And so I'm hoping you take my words respectfully. I know hate is a nasty word, even worse to harbor any.But your 'handle' is so very unappealling to Me. It has negative conotations, unsuited to a music forum, in my humble opinion.Your business not mine, just a thought.Although my thoughts, and they count for very little here.Still something to think about in the near future. It's 'hard' to reply with grace. Just seems insincere. I mean you non the less enjoyment on these pages. 'May Peace be onto you' Chas

Members Redhotpoker
I never indended that, but yeah, now that you've mentioned, it scorches all the right areas, and was conived to burn out an eye , but only if you did 'unpleasant to another peasant'. I'm sure double entendres are rather abundant , just not clued in here.We always dislike others complexities, especially when it reminds us of our own disfunction. Like I said, it's your choice, enjoy it. I'm sure you are much younger than I am. So that sort of stuff is a constant lovely irritant. A very fine distraction from what is more often important.Nothing like some good old fashioned euphemism either. Chas

But it's not reading the midi. How do I achieve this? Agree with Red Hot Poker. But I object to a lot of posters at HC. Anyway, MIDI is not sound. That's fundamental. So no, you can't record MIDI into your Mac & expect it to transform itself into sound. Yes, you could trigger your NE2 via a MIDI device. The NE2 would make noise. And that noise could go into your computer through your A/D converter as sound. Or conversely, you cold sequence your NE2 part as MIDI & run that into your computer, via a MIDI interface. Mac has one built-in I think. Then you would have MIDI data - not noise - inside your Mac. It could be used to trigger a MIDI device somewhere (outside or inside your Mac). Otherwise remember, MIDI is not sound. It's data.

Members Redhotpoker
I'm sorry if my comments botherd you. You'll get over that. But like you, I also have a right to my opinions and beliefs. There are way more people who visit these Forums than those who dare to sign up, sign in and become a 'Member' Even though in truth, I tend to enjoy the stranger stuffing > macabre. In it's place. I'm sure those who admire your bravado, will cheer you on, but I don't.It's an very immature attitude to carry at your age. You are a young MAN, not a boy. I don't have to defend my position. Nor should you. As you haven't done anything wrong, just poor choice. Also, Redhotpoker is a flower. Not a body part. Members Skin flute
No bother here. Your bothered. I'm just asking a question and wanting an answer. Your over here writing like some over anxious conservative hockey mom. Loosen up, never had one complaint until now. I think we all know redhotpoker is not a body part. Innuendos are fun though aren't they. I'm just going boil it down to a huge generational gap. But geez even my grandpa at 83 tells a good dirty joke from time to time. Members Redhotpoker
You might wish to send me your jokes, I'm always ready to bust out the "Chuckles"!!So, did you figure out what MIDI does ? How it works, and why I love it so much. It's not so much a gen gap, as ones intelligence being used efficiently, like I have nothing better to do than debate the merrits of naughty verbage?Have you heard George Carlin's take on those few dirty words? Without the seven :George Carlin: Someone was quite interested in these words. They kept referring to them: they called them bad, dirty, filthy, foul, vile, vulgar, coarse, in poor taste, unseemly, street talk, gutter talk, locker room language, barracks talk, bawdy, naughty, saucy, raunchy, rude, crude, lude, lascivious, indecent, profane, obscene, blue, off-color, risqu
