Emu ESI 32 Question

Hi All

Its been a while. I was given away an obsolete nowdays Emu Esi 32 and i have a question. When i try to format a floppy disk - actually i have a a few hundred very old disks here of various formats and i have tried around 20 of them - while formatting goes well, when i get to "verifying" i never get a "completed" message, i get many other and most often "CRC ERROR". I also have an optical disk so no worries about getting samples into the sampler but i wanted to clear this out as well.

Any ideas ? is there a problem with the very old disks or the floppy drive ?

Thx.

As I think I remember, my old EMU used 720K (Ds/dd) disks, like this:

You might want to verify if this is the case with yours.

I know this may sound like a non-old school solution:

Why not just replace the floppy drive with a Gotek USB Floppy Emulator? You can have like 1000 floppy images pr. usb drive and throw out all those old non-working floppies.
