Members samal50
I have a microKorg and I think it has enough bass sounds that are synth-derived/or driven so I'm not sure if the new Roland TB-303 bass line synth is something I should look into as well if it's any different at all regarding "bass sound in synth music": http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/TB03?gclid=COazsNunw88CFYcehgodzbcAyg
Members 1001gear
If you mean the raspy all balls sound, it's mostly the wave form(s), filter(s), and envelope(s). Sawtooth in the following example. http://www.futureaudioworkshop.com/circle/tutorials/tutorial2
Members OPEN OCEAN
Well it depends clearly on the genre of electronica that you listen or want to recreate.

The Roland TB-303 is certainly one of them, and its sound is very popular for House, Acid House and other associated genres, but you don't have to use it, even for those styles, or any other style - but it would be a nice addition to your synth collection, especially if those genres are something you're into.
