A couple years ago I was debating between the SH-201, and an Alesis Ion, as my new soloing synth (both used but in great condition, both for about the same price). I ended up going with the Ion due to the extensive mod matrix, 2nd mod wheel, various filter types (Moog, ARP, Jupiter, OB, etc.) and big rubbery knobs (also built a little sturdier than the Roland - more metal, less plastic).
