Who knows about a decent librarian for OSX for Roland's D50 ?

Recommended Posts

I have a D50 now.

He will be a good brother to the SY99 and the DX7.

But I have not found a FREE librarian for it for OS X (Snow Leopard).

I am too damned lazy to program my own patches from scratch and would like to try the dozens of SYSEX files available in the web.

So, somebody know a good FREE or not-so-expensive librarian for the D50 for MAC?

Paging Dr. Solaris... Paging Dr. Solaris...

For Mac there's Midiquest with a great editor and librarian.

For windows: the Never Finished Editor aka D-50 VE(not finished yet). There's an old version which works but not fully - you can't select a square wave.

And the Sounddiver of course. Some ppl use it - i don't.

My vote: Midiquest with excellent D-50 editor.

It's not free, but is useful to have it, as you can update it and add new stuff (new synths for free). Worth the investment.

I think there's a trial. Give it a shot.

BTW why not D-550? Less space. And you can route a mod wheel to a cutoff. D-50 doesn't even have a mod wheel - LOL! + 800.

D-50 cool. D-550 FTW & send me some tequila.

I wanted the full synths for stage purposes, as mentioned above.

Together with the DX7 will look so cool onstage. And the D50 and DX7 are actually kinda small, portable synths.

I also wanted a M1 but I ended up buying the update for Snow Leopard for the Legacy Collection, so I'm covered and have its sounds in a plug-in.

Thank you all!!
