Moderators davie Posted August 1, 2011 Moderators Share Posted August 1, 2011 Hey guys, I don't usually come over to this forum, but I got a question Are all sustain pedals basically the same thing? Will any sustain pedal work on any keyboard? Looking to get a sustain pedal. The keyboard I have uses those 1/4" jacks for sustain. Any lower-priced recommendations? Moderators davie Posted August 1, 2011 Author Moderators Share Posted August 1, 2011 It's just some lower budget keyboard I borrowed from my cousin. It's the Yamaha YPT-200 What kinda sustain pedal would I need? Maybe just look for a Yamaha one?
Members zzzxtreme
according to the manual "The sustain function lets you produce a natural sustainas you play by pressing an optional footswitch. Plug the Yamaha FC4 or FC5 footswitch into this jack and use it to switch sustain on and off." -edit- oh the manual also says u can step the pedal while switching the keyboard on to reverse the polarity. so I guess u can use any pedals (though no guarantees from me)
