Members Chordite
Just bought a clean Korg M1 that has dropped its factory sounds via a dead internal battery. Changing the battery is easy enough but getting the sounds back less so.Is there a factory card with the basic M1 sounds or is the only option to go through the arcane web download and MIDI transfer route? Members trevcda
Sorry, I had the initialization procedure, but apparently you still need to bring the rest of the info over MIDI.
Members Chordite
Thanks Trevcda. I have the basic noises using the 3 button reset,(which I guess is what you first posted) so I know it all works, and have ordered a USB midi device to port the programs. I use a DSS-1 as my main keys but as I get older it gets heavier M1Shares a lot of the DSS-1 sounds though, "lore" and such.
Members Chordite
All done Had some trouble porting the programs from the PC I had to reduce the number and size of buffers in MidiOx. It is easy to forget how computers thirty years ago were much simpler slower beasts. Very pleased

Members Outkaster
If I was near would have let you borrow the card. I have the original ones.
