Members johnbarnesiii
Hi, I'm transferring from all in one keyboard workstation (Korg M3) to Mac-based DAW. I'll be using Pro Tools 10 with VSTs & keyboard plug-ins for my sounds. I plan on creating a small custom sound bank of my customized keyboard tones. Question is: once I have customized some tones, how do I: 1) Save them so that they are easily called up?2) Is it possible to program preset buttons on my keyboard controller (eg Akai MPK88) to easily scroll through my custom sounds? How do I do this? Thanks!
Members Conbrio
You'll likely need to read the manual(s) of Pro Tools and your individual VSTi's to find out how they manage user files.
Members johnbarnesiii
Thanks I'll look into it. I guess it would also depend on my keyboard controller's programming capabilities?
Members GloomGenerator
Your controller won't store presets. Most it will do is change them- think TV remote. Not a PT user, but I know in Logic I can store channel strip settings which include the instrument, plugins, settings, etc. Wouldn't be shocked if there's a way to do it in PT, too. If not, buy Logic =)
