  • New PPG Wavegenerator Synthesizer!

    Wow:
PPG Wavegenerator is a next generation iOS based synth from Wolfgang Palm, the inventor of the classic PPG Wave; from one of history's great synths comes a future classic.

This may actually get me to buy an iPad.
Studio One 3, Ableton Live 9, a StudioLive 16.0.2, HS 80M monitors, 2 ATH M50 headphones, Synths both hardware and software, and a DJ rig using turntables.

I am so there the instant it is released. Alchemy and AniMoog will have a new pal.

Looks good, and sounds like iPad purchase.

It could save a thumbnail as the patches name in the case of those pictures turned into sound.

Although then I might not have the nerve to check how my dick sounds.

Of course, playing with really narrowly filtered drone sound with minimally snappy envelope for hastily playing repetitive arpeggios could be depressing anyway.
I am wanting, I am thinking
To arise and go forth singing,
Sing my songs and say my sayings,
            Hymns ancestral harmonizing,
            Lore of kindred lyricking.
            In my mouth the words are melting;
            Utterances overflowing
            To my tongue are hurrying,
Even against my teeth they burst.

A little OT, but does anyone know how often a real PPG Wave comes available on EBay?
I check almost weekly and have never seen one get listed.

Are they that hard to find?
Also, how much you think it would cost?

              Thanks you.
              i like palin.

dont know how i didn't think of doing this.

in college i did an installation where i took baroque - era art, digitized it and used it as a spectral filter and time stretcher for several Billy Piper songs for one of my classes. big hit. that took a lot of work, this will take less! time will tell if the photo-to-wavetable function will actually be useful though. the Baroque Piper stuff was pretty much an unlistenable hash of noise, even by my standards

So this has nothing at all to do with the Waldorf PPG Wave 3.v?

much like Animoog, this synth will allow dynamic control via the 'touchplate keyboard', scrolling through wavetables with gestures etc. pretty cool. i'm just afraid that the built in headphone output of the ipad will not do this thing the justice it deserves

iPad has surprisingly good sound when you plug the hp output into something good, even better sound from the iDock.
