  • any owners of SM pro Audio ?

    hi guys, there's this bundle at thomann for cheaps, I'm wondering about it. does it mean it can easily load the orchestral vst ? can I do splits/layers with it easily ?

    any help greatly appreciated.

    it can do splits/layers, but the specs are dated by todays standards, so make sure it can run the plug-ins you want, before purchasing.

      Bought one, updated the OS, installed VB-3, got CPU pegging and crackles, sent it back immediately.

          VB3 works ok here... Unless you put both your elbows on the keys, it works just fine.
          If you need a KSP script, e-mail me! Depending on amount of work, the price can be arranged!

            VB3 works ok here... Unless you put both your elbows on the keys, it works just fine.


            Yeah well, the first smear I tried involved only one elbow and forearm, and the CPU meter almost broke the display in its haste to peg. I know some others have had luck running VB-3 on V-Machine, and have no clue why it was so unsatisfactory for me. The first thing I did when I got it was to update the OS, which supposedly was going to give me better performance. Oh well.

              I must say that I don't do smears a lot really, so I guess it depends on the playing style a lot. For my usage, VB3 on V-M is just very satisfactory. Some other plugins, like SQ8L (which I can run 4 instances of), Synth1, PPG 2.V, also run well on V-M and that makes it worthwhile for me.
