  • Thinking of picking up an old Korg Electribe ER-1....but ORIGINAL or MKII??

Looking to add a little something fun in the drum machine department so I checked out some ER1 demos and liked what I heard. I heard demos of the both the ORIGINAL and the MKII version and I am really not sure which one to get. I gather the only difference between the two is the "Cross Mod" function on the MKII (as opposed to the "Ring Mod" on the original)? Maybe presets are different..but not sure. I am familiar with Ring Modulation but I am not sure what the "Cross Modulation" function of the MKII actually does (or if it makes the MKII unit any better). Any advice appreciated..especially if you have experience with both units. Cheers.
