That's what I was thinking. As if the forum didn't already have enough problems.

I don't think it gets stale if you're talking about new developments. The Integra 7, Krome, and Minibrute seem to have stimulated some good conversation recently, for example.

As of this morning, I can safely view this forum.

Of course, there is nothing new on it, because everybody was afraid to post!

well, we all know what made an impact on you lol ... !!!

The only reason I still post here is out of habit and when somebody happens to ask a question I have some experience with ... (It's not really their fault they stumbled into this House of the Dead ... )

Otherwise it's just horses for corpses ... A sausage party without the sizzle ...

(Where is sizzlemesiter anyhoo? And all the other interesting folks who mixed synths with all the miscellania ... While I didn't agree with Sizzle's politics all the time, at least he had verve and quite a bit of info on many different topics ... Most of y'all personality-wise would be great extras on The Walking Dead (maybe it's just the way this forum is now and it's not your fault) ... Far and away though the most reprehensible though are the passive-aggressive twats that stifle speech because of a held prejudice ...

What was great about that time -- and is completely missing now -- is the stimulating give and take of random issues all under the umbrella of synths, playing keys, live performance and everything else ...

Puppy, your ennui is precisely the result of this stifling, uncreative spirit that dominates here (just look at who posts the most here and I will point my finger right at them ... )

You're right, one can only discuss this stuff 50 or 100 times ... That's why it's necessary to have interesting conversations about unrelated topics (which used to happen here all the time and never really got in the way of discussing any number of synth-related and music-related topics) ... The glue was that we're all electronic musicians or use electronics in our music and how that informs if at all our opinions on other matters ...

And if anybody argues to the contrary, all one has to do is look at the difference in numbers ... They tell the whole story (any yet just the surface of the small greatness that was once KSS ... )

The spirit that shaped those days is dead here, though ... Smothered by mean, jealous types who couldn't "compete" (for lack of a better word) in an oxygen-rich environment ...

Enjoy your wasteland lords of the undead realm ... !!!
NEW ALBUM RELEASE ... THE END OF TECHNOLOGY ...

http://electrocabaret.bandcamp.com/releases ... Introspective future/retro pop dealing with themes of authoritarianism, apocalypse and alcohol ...

That's why it's necessary to have interesting conversations about unrelated topics

that was why I often suggested an OT KSS forum. Mostly it was rebuffed by being told to go to the open jam. Most people in this forum would agree with me that it's not our crowd. So with a reluctant populace and no where to split and move OT banter from regular threads to, this is what you get.

Part of the issue was that was perceived as censorship. I wouldn't call it that outright, but only because as I just mentioned, KSS has no way of handling OT conversation other than moving it to the hai guyz thread or just telling people to back off.

I hate to say it, but HC really doesn't give us much room or credit for who we are and what we do. Add that onto the site issues and there you go
Give me my moog, but **** off you american techno rockstar! people in countries I've never been to do it better than you!

My pee drinking thread ended up in Open Jam too.

Mostly I post dumbass stuff these days because so much other crap is going on in my life that I don;t have much time or inclination for electronic music right now, or the budget to be playing around with the latest interesting bit of kit.

Actually, the intent is to keep the ra-ra political threads (both conservative and liberal) OUT of forums like this!! So far, so good.

If people don't want to visit a keyboard forum because of what happens in a political forum, that decision really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. To each his own, I guess.

                    I agree wholeheartedly.

If anyone really thinks that this forum in particular has any "political" intent or direction, well, I think you're simply wrong. KSS is about keyboards, synths and samplers - not politics.

This forum has become "boring" because the gear and music talk has slowed down (in favor of shoot-the-breeze type threads), NOT because of silly political reasons as someone proposes.

How about we all start to post relevant, interesting music and musical gear threads again? That will revive KSS

Let's all be positive!! Less "downer" threads and more gear talk!!

Well, this forum is deader than most but it's okay, it's largely due to the botched upgrade and lots of technical problems I'm sure.

I tend to actively participate in this forum more than Muff, GS, or KVR precisely because it's less cluttered. A lot of these other forums really turn into discussions over, er, gear and GAS. They are good places to reference sometimes when you wonder "how do I accomplish X with Y" but fapping over the latest modular doo-hig or Yet Another Subtractive VST or showing off their vintage analog collection gets old after a while, and I really don't feel like keeping up with the noise. I like Keyboard Corner's working musician vibe a lot but their forum software sucks.

My biggest obstacle to music is time and nothing's going to solve that problem when you are a 9 to 5er. It is nice to hear theory / composition talk, as these days I'm more interested in whether that melody sounds catchy vs. whether I'm a l4m3 n00b because I use a preset in a song or something. It's nice to hear practical advice on live stuff as I still do some of that. It would be nice to hear *some* new talk about gear, maybe more than is now as you'd never realize hardly anything that's come out of late in the electronic music world here, but "filtered conversation" is easier to deal with.
What I make with way too many blinky light modular items, plugins, and an Alesis Andromeda.
Forbidden Star: home studio / melodic ambient / New Age / the deep zone
Boney Fiend: the band, man / punk / garage / beer
