Members dolem1te
I got a Roland A800 PRO midi keyboard as I thought it would be a good match for VB3 with it's drawbars, and I've ben happy with my Roland XP-30 that i've had for many years.problem is that I can't load the drivers on my dual G5 Mac tower that I use in my basement studio, running into a Yamaha i88x audio interface.I Install the drivers and get a confirmation that they are installed, but when I open the OSX 'audio-midi' utility, the A800 does not show up... even scanning for new devices does not help. The a800 works fine on my MacBook Air, so I know there is no problem with the keyboard itself, and software instruments work on my G5 using the XP-30 as a controller in Logic Pro. I suspect that the Roland drivers may not be compatible with "pre- Intel" Macs but I can't find anything to confirm my suspicions. I'm looking for ideas on (hopefully) how to make it work, or confirmation of my suspicion that it will never work on my pre-Intel Mac
Members Caligvla
A800 PRO apparently requires OS X v10.4 or later ... Your machine should be capable of running 10.4.11 (Tiger) or 10.5.8 (Leopard). What are you running?
