Members pogo97
Some of us really only want a piano that you can play on stage. Needs great sound, but mostly piano sound. The weakness of virtually every digital keyboard out there is the pedals. Why not put a mini computer/audio module into a box with top-quality pedals on the side. Make it look nice. Make it heavy enough to not slide around. Make the computer controllable from an iphone/ipad/ipod. It would take USB or MIDI from the keyboard and do the rest, with balanced 1/4" stereo output.Whadaya think?Maybe the same idea with a couple of swell pedals for organists/synthesists. But put it all in one box with a handle.
Members mate_stubb
You mean like this: (PC in a box running Pianoteq) Or slightly different idea, look at the brand new Kawaii VPC (virtual piano controller), just add laptop. http://www.kawaivpc.com/

(nice to see three pedals on a keyboard, though) My idea is to use whatever keyboard the user wants--like that nice Kawai up there. The pedal box would contain everything you need to take the keyboard MIDI in and send a top-drawer stereo signal out. It would also house the pedals. Why? Because there is no good three-pedal unit out there and if there was, you'd still need to wire it into your board. And because this gives you a place to put it--under the keyboard--you don't need to find some other place for it. One MIDI or USB cord in from the keys; two audio cables out at floor lever. Very tidy. It would contain an appropriate computer and audio interface and your choice of software (Pianoteq, Ivory, whatever) and would be controlled by an app on ios and/or andriod.
